#FUNFACT TAIPEI
Taipei 101 once had the distinction of being the tallest building in the world, losing its title to Dubai’s Burj Khalifa in 2010. Now the 10th-tallest, the building reaches 1,670 feet and has one of the most impressive wind dampers in the world (not to mention the world’s highest Starbucks!) - The Discoverer | @phantomminn
TAIPEI | N 25.03° / E 121.56°
Wonderfully odd and infinitely charming, Taipei is one of the most underrated destinations in Asia. Taipei takes what’s great about other bustling Asian cities like Shanghai and Tokyo and adds its own quirky personality, making the city more livable, less expensive, and tons of fun. With outstanding public transport, historic sites, and delicious food, Taipei has big city life figured out. - The Discoverer | @phantomminn
GO TAIPEI
October - November Cold weather isn’t really a concern in Taipei, but you’ll want to watch out for heat waves that can hit the city strong and hard. Not to mention sudden and extreme rainstorms. Late fall (October-November) sees a drop in rain and humidity, offering ideal weather for sightseeing. - The Discoverer | Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall | @j_h_ye
DISCOVERIES TAIPEI
Amid the mad dash to modernize and erect modern skyscrapers, Taipei also took the time to preserve some of its more antiquated streets. The “Old Streets” of Taipei preserve the architecture and culture of old Taipei, and offer some of the best eating and shopping in the city. Dihua/Dadaocheng is the oldest street in the city, home to shops selling traditional herbal medicine sitting next to trendy cafes and boutiques. - The Discoverer | @j_h_ye
THE DISCOVERER: JOEY
"Recently I got to explore an island that I would consider one of the most underrated islands in the whole world called Orchid Island. And it's located just off the southern coast of Taiwan. But it should definitely be renamed to 'Goat Island' as goats roam freely and if you're lucky enough one might even smile at you, in a goat kind of way. The topping on the cake for me was the sunset. The colors that were evoked were just unreal." - @quandtify
#FUNFACT SEDONA
The only McDonald’s in the world without the iconic golden arches is in Sedona. Here, the fast-food restaurant’s arches are turquoise, since gold clashed too much with the natural landscape. - The Discoverer | @johnnyroadtrip
SEDONA | N 34.86° / W 111.76°
No matter who you are or where you come from, Sedona is like candy for the soul — addicting, sweet and oh-so-satisfying. Red rock spires reach towards blue skies, forming a landscape of contrasts you can’t find anywhere else in the world. Throw in world-class spas, some spiritually-aligning vortexes and a basket of adventures and you’ll have trouble tearing yourself away. - The Discoverer | @johnnyroadtrip
GO SEDONA
March - May Northern Arizona is notoriously toasty in the summer, but don’t underestimate its winters. Just this year Sedona saw a blanket of snow cover its iconic red peaks. Spring travel is ideal for anyone hoping to spend time in the great outdoors. Sunny skies, flowering cacti blooms and warm temperatures all make for a perfect season. - The Discoverer | @bluejaytaytay
TIPS SEDONA
"We always make time to head out after dark - the real magic happens when you break trail by moonlight! But remember, many believe this land is sacred - protect it, respect it, and leave no trace." - @bluejaytaytay
