#FUNFACT GHENT
Ghent is one of the most vegetarian-friendly cities in the world, observing Veggie Thursdays (Donderdag Veggiedag) where around 50% of the population eats vegetarian for the day. Pssst! Ghent is the English spelling. Don’t be surprised if you see it spelled Gent or Gand - these are the Flemish and French spellings. - TheDiscoverer.com

GHENT | N 51.05° / E 3.71°
Brugge's little sister Ghent brings the dreaminess of Brugge and the city life of Brussels together, adding its own medieval charm. Winding canals, picturesque bridges, medieval churches and castles fill the streets. But don’t mistake Ghent for a mere history tour. With a young and vibrant scene, this Flemish city is a charming discovery waiting to happen.

GO GHENT
Never too cold, hot, dry, or humid, Ghent sits comfortably for most of the year. Like most European cities, however, Ghent is best enjoyed when the weather is sunny and warm, May to October. For a uniquely Ghent experience, Gentse Feesten (Ghent Festival) takes place over 10 days in July and you can party it up with the entire city. If you want to avoid the crowds, though, visit in the fall before the temperature turns.

TIPS GHENT
"Visit the Belfry of Ghent at 12 am to watch how perfectly the ancient clock works and listen to the bells announcing the time. Also, you will see an amazing aerial view of Ghent." - @evgenij_gomenjuk | @urbanpixxels | TheDiscoverer.com

#FUNFACT VALPARAISO
Valparaíso is home to the largest fireworks display in South America! This explosive event takes place every New Year’s Eve, and broke the 2007 world record when it shot off 16,000 fireworks! - TheDiscoverer.com

VALPARAISO | S 33.05° / W 71.61°
Ahh, Valparaíso. The unofficial cultural capital of Chile. With its eclectic street art and steep hills, this city is edgy and charming, a full-blown artistic expression of the highs and lows of Chilean culture. Stretched along the sea, and offering unbeatable vistas of vibrant buildings and rolling ocean waves, this sunny city is one of our favorite South American treasures. - TheDiscoverer.com

GO VALPARAISO
Valparaíso may be south of the equator, but it has the climate of a Mediterranean island. Travel is enjoyable year-round, but keep in mind that summertime (December to February) will be busier for tourists, especially with the famous New Year’s Eve fiesta. - TheDiscoverer.com

TIPS VALPARAISO
"Valparaíso is a city in the hills with narrow streets full of tourists, so renting a car is a bit complicated as parking spaces are not easy to find. Best thing to do is plan the places you want to check in the morning and figure out the best way to wander, combining walking with taxis and public transport." - @_araujobernardo | @worksmarttravelhard | TheDiscoverer.com

"When I woke up, I was in the middle of the main square of Valparaíso and it was like walking into a painting!" @mylifesatravelmovie | TheDiscoverer.com
